Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to personal information you give us on the 8gents website. It is written in plain language for the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) in South Africa.
Last updated 19 October 2026.
Who we are
This site is run by LML Development (Pty) Ltd (“LML Development”). We are the responsible party for personal information you send through the site.
Contact: info@8gents.xyz
What we collect
We do not run advertising or analytics cookies. We collect personal information when you choose to send an enquiry.
The consultation form
The form on the homepage and the form on the start page ask for:
- your name
- your email address
- a phone number, if you want us to call
- your company or industry, or which setup you are interested in
- anything you type in the message
If you send the form, the page also attaches the page you were on, the site that linked you here if your browser shares that, and campaign tags from the link you used (such as utm_source), if there were any.
A hidden field is there to catch spam bots. Leave it empty. If it is filled in, the page does not send the enquiry.
The 60-second check on the homepage
The four-question check on the floor runs in your browser. Your choices stay in memory until you tap to book a consultation or leave the page. They are not stored in a database on this site.
If you book from the check, the same consultation form sends your answers in the message and in a compact quiz field through Web3Forms with your name and email. That is when they become part of a named enquiry. Please do not put ID numbers, health information, or information about a child in the check or the message.
The chat widget
The “Ask 8gents” button opens a chat on the page. Questions you type are answered in your browser from a file we host. We do not send that chat transcript to ourselves or to anyone else.
The chat keeps those campaign tags in your browser’s session storage for that visit, so that if you then leave your details we can see which link you came from. Session storage stays on your device. It is cleared when you close the tab. We do not use it to follow you on other sites.
If you ask to book a call, the chat shows the same kind of form as the start page. Sending it is your choice. If you send it, we receive the same details as the consultation form, marked as coming from the chat.
Web3Forms
The form does not land in a database on this website. Your browser sends the enquiry to Web3Forms at api.web3forms.com, and Web3Forms emails it to info@8gents.xyz.
Web3Forms is a separate company. They process the message so it can reach us, and their own privacy notice applies to that delivery. The page includes a public Web3Forms access key. That key only lets the form deliver mail. It is not a password to your information.
Please don’t send ID numbers, health information, information about a child, or passwords. We only need enough to reply about a consultation.
Why we use it
We use an enquiry to reply to you, to arrange a consultation if you want one, and to see which page you wrote from. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile.
How long we keep it
We keep the email thread for as long as we need to answer you and to keep a record of what we agreed. You can ask us to delete it. Write to info@8gents.xyz.
Who else sees it
- LML Development, so we can reply
- Web3Forms, so the message can be emailed to us
- anyone you include yourself — for example a work address your employer can see
We do not pass the enquiry to Hermes, xAI, or any other product vendor just because you used this form.
Information sent outside South Africa
Web3Forms may process the submission on servers outside South Africa in order to email it to us. We send only the enquiry you chose to submit, and only so we can receive it and reply.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it where the law allows. Email info@8gents.xyz and we will respond.
If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top of this page. How the site may be used is in the terms.
